JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Finance will oversee accounting and contracts departments. This position requires hands-on for some accounting processes to include financial reporting, accounting analysis, creating the annual budget and forecasts for predicating future growth. The Director of Finance will participate in the development of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP). Reports to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
+ Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and payroll.
+ Prepares monthly financial statements, including the income statement, balance sheet, statement of cash flows and other supporting schedules in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
+ Provides monthly financial analysis and year end forecasts to Executive team.
+ Works to ensure Company compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
+ Acts as the DCAA point of contact and coordinates the timely filing of the annual Incurred Cost Submission, as needed.
+ Maintains accounting policies and procedures and oversees a system of internal controls to minimize risk.
+ Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.
+ Provides proposal pricing support.
+ Reports on key performance indicators (“KPI’s”) to measure TAPE’s financial performance.
+ POC for both the Company’s outside accounting firm and banking relationship.
+ Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal tax requirements.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required, Master’s degree is a plus.
+ Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant desirable.
+ Eight to ten years of experience in financial & contractual management required including Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), contracts and billings, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required.
+ Five years+ of experience managing an accounting/ finance department and staff for a mid-sized DoD government contractor (i.e. greater than $20M annual revenues).
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
+ Working knowledge of FAR/ CAS as well as Service Contract Act requirements.
+ Must possess a strong working knowledge Deltek GCS Accounting software, including Deltek Time and Expense. Costpoint experience is a plus.
+ Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
+ Must have a high degree of organizational and time management skills.
+ Excellent management and supervisory skills.
+ Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
+ This position requires the ability to pass a credit and criminal background check.
