    Job Summary

    This position will be responsible for, under the direction of the Head Women's Field Hockey Coach, all phases of a Division I Women's Field Hockey program, within University, Big Ten Conference and NCAA rules and regulations. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting student-athletes to achieve exceptionally high athletic and academic goals, on-field training of team and Individuals, recruitment of prospective student-athletes and community relations.

    Responsibilities*

    + Assisttheheadcoachintheplanning,organizing,directing,andimplementingallphasesofaDivisionI Women's Field Hockey program, with a coaching emphasis on Goalkeepers.

    + Developandmaintainpositive,respectfulrelationshipswithstudent-athletes.

    + Organize,plan,andmanagepracticesandgames.

    + Assembleandprepare scoutingreportsofupcomingandpost-gameopponents.

    + Participate in on and off-campus evaluation and recruitment of student-athletes including evaluation, buildinga relationship with the recruit, coordination of all unofficial and official visitsofrecruitsand monitoring progress through NCAA Clearinghouse.

    + Assistinthe monitoringofstudent-athletes?academicprogress.

    + Participateinpublicrelationsandfundraisingeffortsasrequested.

    + ComplywithNCAA,BigTen,andUniversityregulations.

    + MustworkwithandcommunicateeffectivelywithallteammembersandsupportstaffwithinMichigan Athletics and the UM community.

    + Performallotherdutiesasassigned

    Required Qualifications*

    + Bachelor'sdegreefromanaccreditedcollegeoruniversity

    + Previouscoachingand/or playingexperienceattheDivisionIlevelorhigher.

    + ThoroughknowledgeofNCAArulesandintercollegiateathletics

    + Knowledgeandexperience recruitingatthe DivisionIlevel

    + Abilitytotrainandmotivateathletes

    + Stronginterpersonalskills.

    + Excellentcommunication,organization,andcomputerskills.

    + Mustbeable tosuccessfullypassabackgroundcheckandNCAArecruitingtest

    Desired Qualifications*

    + Workingknowledgeofcomputersoftwareapplicationsinwordprocessing,spreadsheetsandpresentation software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
