Job Summary
The Department of Radiation Oncology is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to support the execution of strategic initiatives. This is a one-year, full-time, term-limited position. The Project Coordinator will provide project management support for high-impact initiatives, particularly focusing on the development of new service lines. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of project management principles, a working knowledge of lean principles, and the ability to contribute meaningfully to complex projects.

Responsibilities*
+ Provide project management support for strategic initiatives within the Department of Radiation Oncology, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
+ Assist in the planning, execution, and tracking of project timelines, deliverables, and resources.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including leadership, clinical staff, and external stakeholders, to drive project progress.
+ Apply lean principles to identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies in new service line development.
+ Prepare and present regular project updates to the Senior Business Process Consultant and other stakeholders.
+ Assist in the development and refinement of project documentation, reports, and presentations.
+ Ensure project milestones are met, identifying and addressing potential obstacles proactively.
+ Participate in departmental meetings, contributing ideas and solutions to improve overall project outcomes.
+ Additional administrative duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required Qualifications*
+ A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field is required.
+ Coursework or certification in project management is required.
+ A minimum of 2 years of relevant project management experience is required.
Desired Qualifications*
+ Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field is preferred.
+ Prior experience supporting projects in a substantial way, with a focus on process improvement, operational efficiency, or strategic initiatives, is preferred.
+ Familiarity with lean principles and their application in process optimization is essential. Candidates should be able to describe past projects where lean principles have been successfully implemented.
+ Strong project management skills, including experience with project planning, execution, and tracking.
+ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present ideas clearly and effectively to a wide range of stakeholders.
+ Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based, multidisciplinary environment.
+ Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities effectively.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Additional Information
**This is a 1-year term-limited appointment.** At the end of the stated term, your appointment will terminate and will not be eligible for Reduction-in-Force (RIF) benefits. This term-limited appointment does not create a contract or guarantee of employment for any period of time as you will remain subject to disciplinary or other performance measures, up to and including termination, at the will of the University in accordance with existing University policy and standards for employee performance and conduct.
Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
