    Job Description Summary

    The Assembly Engineer (AE) is a hands-on manufacturing engineering role that actively engages on the shop floor to manage assembly and test enabling hardware requirements for Development Engine Test at Peebles Test Operation. Projects will span Commercial Legacy, New Technology Introduction (NTI), and New Product Introduction (NPI) programs. This role ensures assembly processes meet the highest standards of safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC). The assembly engineer will be responsible for assembly conformity and project management during the Prep to Test phase. Additionally, the Lead Engineer will mentor newer Assembly Engineers, fostering their professional development and ensuring adherence to project timelines and goals. Focus for this role will be Prep to Test Readiness for Development engines.

    Job Description

    Roles and Responsibilities

    + Responsible for managing assembly and prep to test requirements for development engines

    + Responsible for cost and schedule of assigned engines.

    + Daily interface with: Peebles site support teams, assembly teams, instrumentation, evaluation, systems, test, engineering design, materials/fulfillment, tooling and project personnel, as well as the hourly work force.

    + Engagement in activities that will assist in the scheduling and execution of engines while focusing on: Integrity, Safety, Quality, Delivery and Over-all Cost Initiatives.

    + Refine, develop, and validate all aspects of the assembly process including tooling, planning, and procedures to prioritize safety and quality as well as efficiency

    + Provide engine status briefings to senior business leadership

    + Coordinate with customers and business leadership to ensure all key development milestones are complete on time, on budget, and to the highest quality

    + Ensure engine assemblies conform to latest quality and FAA regulations – this role will include signing engine assembly conformities, 8130-9, for assigned engines

    + Create and manage the engine test prep schedule through the development process

    + Use a lean approach to deliver results and create solutions in a dynamic environment

    + Enforce and analyze operations to ensure a safe working environment

    + Provide mentorship to newer Assembly Engineers

    + Prep to Test Readiness including maintaining hardware kit and proactive readiness for engine arrival

    Required Qualifications

    + Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in managing assembly and prep to test requirements for development engines ). + Minimum of 3 years managing assembly and prep to test requirements for development engines.
