    SAIC has an immediate opening for a full-time Accountant. This position supports high visibility customer activities that are critical to national security. In this role you will be responsible for assessing technical accounting requirements for a variety of complex transactions; implementing Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); recommending and implementing industry best practices; and ensuring appropriate accounting control procedures are maintained for all relevant process areas. This position is located in Sterling, VA and requires background screening and successful processing for a Top Secret security clearance.

     

    •** **In this role responsibilities include:

    + Perform technical accounting research on transactions of substantial size

    + Assist in the preparation of periodic financial reporting and executive summaries

    + Review and analyze new accounting pronouncements and determine impacts

    + Provide analysis and support to external auditors

    + Perform corporate tax analysis and review of federal state and local tax filings

    Qualifications

    + Must have obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from an AACSB accredited institution prior to starting this position

    + 3 years of related experience, which can be professional or academic

    + Must be able to complete and obtain a TS/SCI and Poly security clearance processing prior to starting

    + A strong interest in performing technical accounting research over a broad range of topics

    + Ability to navigate and interpret relevant authoritative literature to evaluate and recommend solutions

    + Exceptional communication skills

    + Strong organizational and management skills

    + Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

    + Willingness to conduct domestic travel **Desired Experience:**

    + Internship with one of the Big 4 public accounting firms (Audit)

    + Certified Public Accountant

    + Master's Degree in Finance or Accounting

    + Experience in forensic accounting to include anti-money laundering activities
