    Position Overview:

    Lead and/or participate with purchasing in the supplier evaluation, selection, and strategic sourcing and development processes. Responsible for our most challenging supplier corrective action situations including containment, identification of assignable cause, root cause analysis, permanent corrective actions, and overall effectiveness of the problem-solving process. Collaborate with and leads suppliers to understand and meet all product requirements including compliance with the nelson supplier handbook. Oversee the supplier quality resources for our most challenging new product introduction and current products to reduce supplier related issues, improve process capabilities, and ensure timely project launches. Lead the measurement of supplier quality performance according to established procedures and is responsible to drive appropriate improvements to meet established targets. Responsible for leading the continuous improvement activities with suppliers in their efforts to reduce defects. Provide ongoing support of supplier's quality, cost, and delivery objectives. Participate and/or lead the change control processes with the supply base, ensuring timely and cost-effective implementation. Conduct process/product audits on a scheduled routine to provide ongoing quality assurance. Support plant level quality issues as they occur. Telecommuting allowed up to 5 days per week. Up to 25% domestic travel required to visit manufacturing plants.

    Required Education & Experience:

    Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Industrial Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field plus 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Quality Assurance or related field. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Leading the strategic New Product Development supplier selection process and developing suppliers through Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)/Product Part Approval Process (PPAP); (2) Utilizing Six Sigma and lean methodologies with global teams to achieve process capability results; (3) Developing supplier performance management process and tracking supplier performance using metrics, trend analysis to meet KPI targets; (4) Implementing supplier quality audit process across the global organization; (5) Evaluating supplier quality systems, technical capability and manufacturing processes, capacity and capability to ensure suppliers meet company quality standards; (6) Leading global supplier quality function to: develop strategic and collaborative supplier partnerships; identify supplier innovation capabilities; contribute to supplier audit and certification process; track supplier performance metrics; and resolve issues to improve supplier quality performance; (7) Utilizing Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure precision and accuracy in measurements, minimize assembly issues by allowing for specific tolerances in part fitting and reduce manufacturing costs by enabling more accurate, efficient, and repeatable measurements; and (8) Using ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 quality systems to enhance product quality, customer satisfaction, environmental sustainability, and process efficiency in line with regulatory requirements and industry-specific standards.
