    About the Office:

    The Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice (MOCJ) advises the Mayor and Deputy Mayor for Public Safety on criminal justice policy and is the mayor’s representative to the courts, district attorneys, defenders, and state criminal justice agencies, among others. The office designs, deploys and evaluates citywide strategies to drive down crime, reduce unnecessary arrests and incarceration, and improve the system’s fairness. MOCJ works with law enforcement and city agencies, non-profits, foundations, and others to implement data-driven strategies that address current crime conditions, prevent offending, and build strong neighborhoods that ensure enduring safety.

    About the Role:

    Under the supervision of the Chief Operating Officer, the Operations Director will be a highly motivated and experienced manager to oversee the agency’s day-to-day operations. This position is for a seasoned manager - who will have responsibility for coordinating amongst several teams responsible for the on-going operations of various agency office locations. This role is responsible for driving workflow, maintaining visibility into project schedules, and ensuring alignment across stakeholders. The position plays a critical role in translating executive strategy into actionable plans and deliverables, enabling teams to operate with clarity and focus. This role ensures that work moves forward efficiently and meets established deadlines.

    Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    - Responsible for all actions related to the operations of the agency:

    o Fleet management

    o Facilities management

    o Travel coordination

    o Mailroom coordination

    o Records retention

    o Calendar management

     

    - Propose and implement strategies to improve the efficiency of internal procedures by analyzing existing plans to ensure that all are aligned with the overall goals of the Agency.

     

    - Track and monitor projects and assignments, maintain timelines, and follow up with internal and external parties.

     

    - Lead cross-functional workflows for seasonal and always-on marketing campaigns, ensuring alignment, progress, and timely delivery across teams.

     

    - Facilitate effective communication and feedback loops to drive decision-making, issue resolution, and stakeholder engagement.

     

    - Troubleshoot and resolve cross-functional challenges, proactively surfacing risks and removing obstacles to ensure project success.

     

    - Own project status updates, recap meetings, and deliverable tracking to keep leadership and stakeholders informed.

     

    - Ensure process adherence while identifying opportunities to optimize workflows and improve operational efficiency.

     

    - Maintain the proper records of all the above.

     

    - Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    1. Do you have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university?

    2. Do you have an associate degree from an accredited college or university along with two (2) years of experience with administrative, analytic, coordinative, supervisory or liaison responsibilities?

    3. Do you have a four-year high school diploma, or its educational equivalent approved by a state's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization along with four (4) years of experience as described in question "2" above?

    4. Do you have a satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to that described in questions "1," "2," and/or "3" above?

    Salary Min: $ 66,066.00

     

    Salary Max: $105,000.00
