Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Kibana Engineer to join our team at Scott Air Force Base, supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). The successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining Kibana dashboards and visualizations to support data analytics and reporting requirements. This position requires a deep understanding of Kibana, Elasticsearch, and data visualization principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Design, develop, and maintain Kibana dashboards and visualizations to support data analytics and reporting requirements.

+ Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver high-quality data visualizations.

+ Implement and optimize Elasticsearch queries to ensure efficient data retrieval and visualization performance.

+ Ensure data quality, integrity, and security by implementing best practices and adhering to relevant data governance policies.

+ Develop and maintain documentation for Kibana dashboards, visualizations, and related processes.

+ Monitor and troubleshoot Kibana and Elasticsearch issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to operations.

+ Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve Kibana and data visualization practices.

+ Provide training and support to end-users on how to effectively use Kibana dashboards and visualizations.

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.

+ Active DoD Secret clearance is required.

+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in data visualization, data analytics, or a related field.

+ Proficiency in Kibana and Elasticsearch, including experience with designing and developing Kibana dashboards and visualizations.

+ Proficiency with SQL and database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle).

+ Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and data analytics frameworks.

+ Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data security best practices.

+ Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Elastic Certified Engineer, AWS Certified Data Analytics).
