Your role and responsibilities
The Banking Migration SME provides domain-specific expertise in banking operations, data structures, regulatory compliance, and migration strategies to support the successful transition between banking platforms. They serve as a key advisor and execution partner across planning, risk mitigation, and solution validation.
This Job can be Performed from anywhere in the US.
Required technical and professional expertise
Experience in Banking Domain: Minimum 10 years of experience in retail or commercial banking, with a deep understanding of banking products (e.g., loans, deposits, payments, cards).
Migration Program Expertise: Proven track record in end-to-end platform migrations (e.g., core banking, loan origination, payments engine), including data, product, and operational transitions.
Stakeholder Management: Strong communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with C-level executives, business leads, and technology teams.
Regulatory and Compliance Awareness: Knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., FFIEC, OCC, CFPB, GDPR) as they pertain to banking system migrations.
Change Management and Training: Experience in supporting or leading user training, business readiness, and post-migration support activities.
Analytical Thinking and Problem Solving: Ability to identify migration risks, propose mitigation strategies, and resolve issues under tight deadlines.
Project Participation: Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall delivery models, and experience working in hybrid program environments
Technical Requirements
Banking Systems Knowledge: Expertise in legacy and modern banking platforms such as Fiserv’s Premier, Cleartouch, Temenos or similar.
Data Migration Knowledge: Experience in defining data extraction, mapping, transformation, validation, and reconciliation strategies for high-volume, sensitive data sets.
System Integration: Understanding of upstream and downstream integrations (e.g., general ledger, fraud detection, credit bureaus, digital channels, CRM, document systems).
Testing Lifecycle Support: Ability to design and review test scenarios, expected outcomes, and defect triaging for data and functional validation during migration.
Cutover Planning and Execution: Familiarity with migration runbooks, command centers, rollback strategies, and real-time incident handling during cutover events.
