Minnesota Housing is hiring! We’re a mission-focused financial institution looking for a Senior Accountant who is responsible for various loan accounting functions, including verifying and inputting new and modified Single Family loans, and will be responsible for transacting and reconciling any new State Appropriated loans residing in State Appropriated. This position provides a platform for ongoing learning, particularly in reconciling the Single Family loan portfolio, completing Single Family daily cash deposits in Cash Management utilizing the Application Oriented Designs (AOD) Emphasys accounting software that interfaces into the General Ledger, and collaborating with our external servicing partners. Moreover, this position is responsible for compiling the quarterly financial disclosure reporting for the Residential Housing Financing Bond (RHFB) fund indenture used in bond offering documents, the year-end audit, and other financial analyses. This role also contributes to preparing the annual report schedules as needed for the annual reporting.
Essential Job Duties
+ Process monthly loan activities (recording payments and deposits) using the Application Oriented Designs (AOD) Emphasys accounting software.
+ Perform account reconciliation for Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts using (AOD) Emphasys reports and comparing them to the external servicer reports, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
+ Responsible for reconciling various loan series recorded in the Benedict, Group Inc. (BGI) Multifamily loan system against the General Ledger (GL). This critical task ensures data integrity and compliance, and it's essential that both systems are in agreement for State Appropriated and the Alternative Loan Fund 2 (ALF2) loans.
+ Reconciling the cash in transit cash balances in ALF2 and the Residential Housing Finance Bonds (RHFB) fund indentures.
+ Review, process, and clear the Single Family cash clearing accounts in ALF2 and RHFB.
+ Update and process the first mortgage loan modifications.
+ Set up the curtailment and prepay databases for the ALF2 and RHFB fund indentures. Team members will use these reports to prepare cash flow statements and other loan analyses.
+ Prepare monthly work papers and schedules as needed for audit and financial reporting purposes such as the payoffs/remittance and private mortgage insurance reports.
+ Prepare the quarterly financial disclosure reporting for the Residential Housing Finance Bonds (RHFB). This task provides transparency and accountability, and it's essential to execute it diligently.
+ Assist with the interim and fiscal year-end annual audits by providing requested information to auditors for the March and June audits and answering questions.
+ Prepare year-end schedules are requested for the annual report.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

+ **Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 2 years of experience working with accounting financial statement or loan accounting (General Ledger, loan transactions).**
+ **Two or more years of experience working with account reconciliations.**
+ **Intermediate experience in Microsoft Excel including using VLOOKUP and pivot tables.**
+ **Demonstrated communication skills, including ability to comprehend and communicate complex information in plain language.**
+ **Proven ability to use analysis, problem-solving, and decision making to identify issues and problems, using the same skills to resolve the issues quickly and effectively.**
+ **Cultural competency as demonstrated by skills for communication and interaction across cultures and awareness of one’s own world view and that different world views exist**
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience working with General Ledger account reconciliations.
+ Loan accounting experience working with loan activities such as interest accruals, principal repayments, payoffs, loan loss reserves and provisions.
+ Financial institution experience.
+ AOD Emphasys accounting software experience.
