Summary
**SUMMARY:** The AHD Manager, Rehabilitation, Community Hospitals is responsible for the supervision and direction of the Rehabilitation staff so as to assure the highest quality of service to the patients of the Community Hospitals. They will ensure distribution and implementation of hospital policies and programs. They will maintain performance improvement activities within the department and participate in performance improvement activities. Acts in compliance with State and Federal regulations while meeting the objectives of Alameda Hospital. Provides for safe, effective, and appropriate care in a cost effective manner. Performs related duties as required.
**DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:** NOTE: The following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. However, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification.
1. Prepare all required reports in a timely manner.
2. Provide continuing education opportunities; orientation and in-service training for all persons in the department/service.
Supervise and at least annually, provide input for staff evaluations to ensure competency.
3. Oversight, evaluation, and treatment to patients and record progress daily and/or per visit.
4. Recommend the type and number of qualified staff needed to perform the required services. Recommend the type and amount of equipment, facilities, and other resources needed to perform the required services. Maintain quality control programs.
5. Responsible for the establishment and maintenance of an efficient system for scheduling inpatient and outpatient services. Continuously assessing and assisting with improvement of the performance of care and services provided.
6. Serve on hospital committees and meet with management and departments as required for the coordination and integration of interdepartmental and intradepartmental services.
7. Stays well-informed of new clinical therapy practice and procedures. Remain informed regarding regulations affecting the current practice of Physical and Occupational Therapy as well as Speech/Language Pathology.
_Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying._
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Rehabilitation related field.
Minimum Experience: Two to five years of experience in an acute care/rehabilitation department of a medical center serving a diverse patient population.
Minimum Experience: Two years of experience in staff supervision or leadership responsibilities preferred.
Required Licenses/Certifications: Certified BLS Health Care Provider.
Required Licenses/Certifications: State of California license to practice in a rehabilitation related field (Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech Therapy).
**Pay Range:** $49.36 - $82.28 / Hour
_The pay range for this position reflects the base pay scale for the role at Alameda Health System. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, departmental equity, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and the operational needs of the organization.
