    + **Department: Ambulance Ground**

    + **Schedule: Full Time Nights 3 (12-hour) shifts per week. Will work two weekends per month.**

    Responsibilities

    Provide advanced life support for critically ill/injured patients at the scene and during transport as part of the transport team.

     

    + Identify, intervene, and stabilize the ill or injured patient during interfacility and intrafacility as part of the transport team in collaboration with the transport physician and/or Registered Nurse.

    + Initiate and implement interventions based on transport team protocols. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition and treatment, as appropriate.

    + Contact receiving medical personnel, report observations and follow directives.

    + Inspect, maintain and care for equipment to ensure safety of the transport team, patients and public.

    + May be required to drive an ambulance to transport patients and/or supplies.

    Requirements

    Licensure / Certification / Registration:

    + BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

    + One or more of the following required:

    + Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

    + Paramedic credentialed from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

    + Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

    + Certification specializing in ER Vehicle Operation preferred.

    + Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred.

    + Drivers License preferred.

    + Instructor specializing in Pediatric Adv Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

    + Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

    + Certified Prehospital Trauma Life Spprt preferred.

    Education:

    + High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience

    Work Experience:

    + Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
