A glimpse of the job
Provides clerical, accounting, and customer service support duties in a specialized field within the Division of Finance.
Essential Duties/Tasks
+ Assign commodity codes - AggieBuy requisitions accurately and timely; within 1 hour for regular and rush confirming requisitions and within 24 hours for confirming requisitions while providing quality customer service to the university community and vendors.
+ Process AggieBuy - Invoices before the payment due date, maintaining compliance with TAMU, TAMU System and state of Texas disbursement guidelines. Must work to resolve any problems or gather missing documentation in a timely manner and keep it organized and flowing.
+ Customer service - Researches and resolves problems and discrepancies, handles emails and phone calls within specified time lines, contributes to the team by working effectively with individuals of various backgrounds. Serves as a resource in educating the departmental personnel in Accounts Payable procedures.

Salary: $16.72 hourly

Required Education and Experience:
+ High school graduation or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Four years of experience in a specialized financial field such as accounts payable, payroll, student accounts.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ Excellent oral and written communication, customer service and problem-solving skills.
+ Attention to detail.
+ Ability to comprehend, apply and enforce rules and regulations.
+ Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
+ Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet programs and bookkeeping procedures.

+ This position is security sensitive
+ This position requires compliance with state and federal laws/codes and Texas A&M University System/TAMU policies, regulations, rules and procedures
+ All tasks and job responsibilities must be performed safely without injury to self or others in compliance with System and University safety requirements
