A Glimpse of the Job
The Financial Accountant III performs complex professional accounting tasks.
Essential Duties/Tasks:
Auditing and Compliance
+ Audits accounting and financial documents for accuracy and completeness.
+ State Holds/Bankruptcy Process
+ Permanent Working Fund Audits
+ State Sales Tax Audits
+ Assists in making recommendations for improvements, adaptations, or revisions to accounting systems, policies, and procedures.
+ Research discrepancies and reports findings.
+ Assures compliance with all relevant standards, policies, and procedures
iPayment Administration
+ Maintain, update, and modify iPayment database configuration including review of each request to confirm accuracy and correctness, onboarding new users and agencies
+ Conducts training on the use of iPayments for all system member users
+ Liaison with software provider to work out errors or additional needs
Accounting, Billing and Financial Analysis
+ Performs complex accounting work to include recording, examining, and analyzing financial records, documents, or reports.
+ Prepares invoices and reports - TAMU,TAMUS,TAMUG,TAMHSC,TAMSSSC and TDEM
+ File Feed Review and Submission
+ Reconciling incoming check log
Problem Solving and Process Improvement
+ Serves as a resource in solving accounting or financial problems.
+ Assists in making recommendations for improvements, adaptations, or revisions to the accounting system, policies, and procedures.
+ Identifies financial discrepancies and budget shortfalls and informs management.

Salary: $60,000 annually

Required Education and Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
+ Four years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.
+ Practical knowledge of governmental and higher education operations.
+ Oral and written communication skills.
+ Customer service and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
