Job Description

An employer in the life sciences industry is looking for a Data Architect to joint the team in a hybrid onsite role in Carlsbad, CA. This role involves solutioning, implementation, and the use of existing architecture to build robust data solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Databricks, PySpark, and AWS, and will be experienced at both hands-on coding and architectural planning. Responsibilities include architecting and implementing data solutions using Databricks, Unity Catalog, and PySpark; collaborating with engineering teams to define and refine existing architecture; building and maintaining data lake houses and warehouses, ensuring alignment with application architecture; utilizing AWS services such as EC2 and Athena for data integration and management; defining and modeling data using Unity Catalog for Databricks; and leading offshore and onshore teams, ensuring effective communication and project delivery.

Skills and Requirements

7-8 years of experience in data engineering and architecture.

Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Data Architect.

Proven ability to work with existing architecture and define new solutions.

Strong experience developing solutions using tools like Databricks, PySpark, and AWS to code, configure, and integrate various components to build systems.

Extensive experience using Databricks, PySpark, and AWS for data management and processing.

Demonstrated experience in building and defining data architecture.

Must have experience with AWS EC2 and Athena. Experience with AI, prompt engineering, RAGs, and agent TKI modeling.

Background in consulting for clients in healthcare, pharma, retail, or similar industries. null
