Job Description

A petrochemical client of Insight Global is looking to hire a Sr. Data Engineer to join their Data Engineering & Governance team. The ideal candidate should be self-starting, requires minimal supervision, and travel around 40% of the time to engage with research and technology teams regarding transformation goals using data. Expertise in Azure Databricks and Azure infrastructure is essential, with desired skills in data science, business intelligence, and analytics. Preference goes to candidates with recent Databricks certification and proficiency in governance using Unity Catalog for translating business domain knowledge into tangible requirements. Candidates must possess strong collaborative abilities, understanding of governance through Unity Catalog, and comprehension of various business domains. It is crucial to excel at translating this knowledge into specific business needs effectively. The role involves engaging with internal teams like research and technology groups to align their objectives with data-driven insights efficiently. Managing data transformations requires proactive strategic planning while maintaining autonomy within parameters set by the central data engineering team. This person needs to be local to the Woodlands, TX or surrounding areas for occasional onsite meetings. The hourly pay for this role ranges from $70-$80/hr.

Skills and Requirements

12 years of experience within the Data Management, Engineering, and/or Analysis space

Extensive experience working with Azure Databricks for end to end Data Management- i.e., Databricks, Data Factory, Purview, Synapse Analytics, Data Modeling, Data Infrastructure

Experience working with Unity Catalog in relation to Azure Databricks

Experience programming within Python and SQL

Experience working with Terraform

Knowledge of Apache Spark Architecture

Customer/Client Facing Experience and Skills Recently obtained Azure Databricks certification null
