JOB SUMMARY:
Operating within the Monarch Center for Autism, Bellefaire JCB’s Director of Community Education heads a robust team of educational professionals charged with delivering specialized educational services to students within the Monarch School. Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Monarch School, the Director of Community Education coordinates educational programming for community youth in accordance with the Monarch Model, Individualized Education Plans, and other stakeholder expectations. The Director of Community Education is responsible for managing all aspects of educational service delivery for students at Monarch School, inclusive of, but not limited to: strategic planning; management of finances; stakeholder relations; compliance; staffing; resource procurement; facilities management; and mission-driven leadership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
+ Organize and manage systems for the delivery of excellent educational programming for students of the Monarch School Community Education Program. Ensure that educational service delivery for students aligns with Individualized Education Plans, adheres to the principles of the Monarch Model, and is coordinated with other services being offered.
+ Provide necessary guidance as well as direct operational/educational support to the Intervention Specialists, Instructional Assistants, and other stakeholders within the Community Education program.
+ Identify problems and provide immediate and impactful solutions for granular needs of all stakeholders (employees, students and families) within the Monarch Community Education program.
+ Respond to the wide variety of crisis situations within the program environment. Where appropriate, provide in the moment modeling, instruction and ongoing training which represents a high degree of clinical integrity and crisis management skills.
+ Participate and aide in the development of ongoing trainings, initial employee on-boarding activities and other personnel development initiatives in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
+ Provide modeling, feedback and guidance to staff within the program on facets of behavior plans, educational goals and related treatment planning goals that are in consistent alignment with evidence based practices.
+ Provide oversight of daily operations activities including staff attendance, schedules, data collection documentation and other program needs.
+ Lead strategic planning efforts for community education, which ensure that there is an ongoing process of quality improvement across all operational domains.
+ Provide administrative supervision to the program and staff including, but not limited to, hiring, supervision, evaluation, disciplinary actions and termination of employees.
+ Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards that govern educational service delivery for community students.
+ Participate in annual budgeting process for community education and manage operations throughout the fiscal year in order to achieve financial goals.
+ Ensure symbiotic service coordination with the broader Monarch School, allowing other departments and teams to feel connected to the Agency’s mission, maintain good working relationships with one another, and support one another as they are able.
+ Participate in training/development of the Monarch Model and data/outcomes management system.
+ Oversee curriculum development and assessment for community students.
+ Work with staff on Individualized Education Plan development, review, and implementation.
+ Ensure that data collected by staff is correct, complete, and prompt.
+ Participate in parent meetings, staffing’s, IEPs and other necessary clinical discussions.
+ Contribute to the development and maintenance of the clinical record through the timely completion of assigned documentation in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
+ Utilize Safety Care procedures, including at a minimum, demonstrating proficiency in Safety Care training and use of the Two-Person Stability Hold.
OTHER DUTIES:
+ Attend scheduled staff meetings, supervision, and on-going training.
+ All required trainings, certifications and licensure must be kept current in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
+ Respect the privacy of clients and hold in confidence all information obtained during the client’s treatment. All client-related documents should be handled in accordance with Agency guidelines on confidential material.
+ Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Agency policies and procedures.
+ Other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Education: Master’s Degree in Education; Intervention Specialist license preferred. Bachelor’s Degree required.
+ Licensure: Ohio Teaching Certification required.

+ Problem Solving & Decision Making: Recognize problems and responds appropriately; gathers information and sorts through it to identify and address root cause issues; makes timely decisions.
+ Service Orientation: Anticipate, recognize, and meet the needs of others, whether they are clients or not.
+ Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate competence in utilizing Agency computer systems and software as required to perform essential job functions.
+ Leadership: Proven effective leadership skills to ensure departmental engagement and success.
+ Pass Safety Care Core Curriculum by passing the written exam, attending the full duration of training, participating and passing the required role plays, and demonstrating the full competencies up to and including the Two-Person Stability Hold required.
+ Ability to handle stressful situations by remaining calm and professional while working with students and staff.
+ Must have regular and predictable attendance.
+ Proficiency in crisis management and active problem-solving when prompt decision-making and action are necessary.
+ Experience:
+ 3-5 years of experience in teaching children with autism strongly preferred.
+ 3-5 years of experience working with families, school districts, and supportive agencies strongly preferred.
