    Wells Fargo’s Global Payments & Liquidity (GPL) team is an integrated, forward-looking product organization with end-to-end payments, data, liquidity and associated lending solutions that enable our clients to achieve their business objectives in an evolving digital world.

     

    As our GPL team moves forward with our Payments transformation, we are creating a new leadership role that will lead market/competitive intelligence, research, and strategy for the organization. The Head of Wholesale Payments Market Intelligence & Strategy must be a visionary and strategic leader who will lead a cross-functional team responsible for supporting Product leadership in identifying and capitalizing on emerging market trends to improve the overall customer experience. This leader will report to the Head of Product Enablement for Global Payments & Liquidity (GPL) and will combine deep knowledge of the payments landscape with strong strategic thinking, market foresight, and the ability to champion new ideas that shape the future of our transaction banking products and platforms.

    In this role, you will:

    + Create a structured intake model to evaluate and prioritize innovative ideas and solutions directly related to driving growth in GPL. Manage the innovation pipeline and foster a culture of continuous improvement and creativity.

    + Maintain a strong pulse on evolving economic developments, global market trends, customer behaviors and regulatory shifts (e.g., crypto, stablecoin, RTP). Use this intelligence to refine our GPL business strategies, inform strategic decisions and ensure competitive advantage and scalability.

    + Build strong industry connections and represent Wells Fargo at industry events. Serve as a thought leader in payments and emerging market trends and build expertise across the GPL Leadership team. Partner closely with head of Global Sales, Marketing and PSS teams to leverage progress to demonstrate our innovative focus to both internal and external parties.

    + Advise senior leadership (including Head of GPL and Head of Wholesale Payments). Develop and deliver concise executive materials for both internal presentations external engagements.

    + Build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders (Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) Innovation CIB/Commercial Banking Digital and Enterprise Partnerships/Innovation, Legal, and Economics/Research teams, and Consumer Payments leaders) and partner with Product, Technology, Finance, Risk, and Operations to translate strategic insights into commercialized solutions.

    + Manage a small team (3-5) to execute the above actions with strong understanding of payments ecosystems (e.g., card networks real-time payments, wallets, APIs, regulatory considerations).

    Required Qualifications

    + 8+ years of Product Management or leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

    + 4+ years of Management experience

    Desired Qualifications

    + Wholesale Payments market expertise

    + Ability to develop C-suite executive-ready presentations leveraging data and analytics

    + Strong ability to collaborate and influence across lines of business at multiple levels; negotiating with senior business executives to create and manage strong relationships

    + Proven ability to consult and advise across leadership, stakeholders and partners

    + Proven track record of success in delivering high quality work in a fast paced, dynamic and matrixed environment

    + Ability to be flexible and adjust plans quickly to meet changing business need, and to operate in ambiguous, fast changing environments

    + Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage wide range of audiences

    + Strong track record of leading and developing high-performing teams

    + Self-motivation and be energetic and forward thinking, possessing integrity and high ethical standards

     

    Pay Range

     

    Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

     

    $173,300.00 - $359,900.00
