    Join a Dedicated Team at State Hospital West (SHW)! The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare is seeking a compassionate and motivated temporary Licensed Practical Nurse(LPN) to join the team at State Hospital West (SHW) inNampa, Idaho. SHW is a 16-bed adolescent psychiatric treatment facility serving youth ages 11 to 18. Nestled between Ridgecrest and Centennial golf courses along the I-84 corridor, SHW offers a tranquil setting for healing and growth. SHW provides critical inpatient psychiatric care for Idaho adolescents experiencing the most severe and persistent mental health challenges. We work in close partnership with families and communities to help our youths transition back to successful community living. SHW is accredited by The Joint Commission and certified by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

    EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

    + Provide practical nursing care and assist Registered Nurses in routine to complex situations.

    + Support patient treatment plans, with a focus on patient teaching and follow-through.

    + Care for patients who may be confused, disoriented, hostile, or aggressive.

    + Administer medications and monitor patients for any side effects or changes.

    + Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation of patient behaviors.

    + Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care and medical records.

    + Observe and report changes in patient condition to the healthcare team.

    + Collaborate with families, guardians, and community partners for treatment planning.

    + Adhere to hospital safety, infection control, and confidentiality procedures.

    + Complete required certifications in CPR and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position.     Below is preferred experience. It is not required for the position but applicants with this experience may receive consideration over other applicants.

     

    + Experience in behavioral health setting.Typically gained by 6 months or more working experience in a behavioral health setting.
