    Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal/Sr Principal Hardware Engineer. This position is located in **Manhattan Beach, CA or Roy, UT** and supports the Sentinel program.

    What** **You’ll** **Get** **To** **Do:

    + Responsible for overseeing and coordinating mechanical systems design

    + Evaluating mechanical systems, products, components, and applications by reviewing designs.

    + Ensures product quality by reviewing mechanical designs and validating that current standards are applied.

    + Supports the delivery of Mechanical Systems design Technical Data Packages, as-built TDPs, PDPs, interface models, and additional design artifacts

    + Supporting structured trade studies to evaluate alternative design solutions to resolve technical issues

    + Developing and presenting design change requests, coordinating with impacted internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring configuration control of the technical baseline.

    + Identifying risks and opportunities associated with or driven by design factors and executing handling/mitigation/capture actions to reduce risk or realize opportunities.

    + Developing and maturing Mechanical System designs that meet Weapon System requirements, UFC, MIL-STD, and other applicable codes and regulations.

    This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

    Job Qualifications:

    You’ll** **Bring** **These Qualifications:

    _This requisition may be filled at either the_ Principal Material Process Engineer _level (T0_ _3) or_ SR Principal Material Process Engineer _level (T0_ _4_ _)_ .

     

    **Principal Hardware** **Engineer** :

    + Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience, or 3 years of experience with a Master's degree; 4 years of experience with PHD

    **Sr** **Principal** **Hardware** **Engineer** :

    + Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of experience, or 6 years of experience with a Master's degree; 4 years of experience with PHD

    + Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years

    + Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs

    + Experience performing CAD modeling with design tools such as Siemens NX or similar

    + Experience performing design efforts on Aerospace and Defense programs.

    + Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of tools - Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word

    These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

    + Experience with Systems Engineering tools (CAMEO/DOORS) and architecture

    + Proficient with 3D design/2D drawing CAD in NX

    + Proficient with PDM and/or CPLM

    + Proficient with GD&T and ASME Y14.5-2009

    + Experience working with specialty engineering stakeholders (PM&P, Safety, Human Factors, others)

    + Experience leading a team of engineers or project(s)

    + Hands on experience in equipment maintenance, fabrication, assembly, and measuring tools

    + Strong communications skills, both verbal and written; and ability to read and understand technical requirements documents

    + Experience with ground system hardware components

    + Ability to build and navigate through NX 3D models

    + Experience with CPLM

     

    Salary Range: $107,800.00 - $134,800.00Salary Range 2: $0.00 - $0.00

     

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

     

    Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
