General Requirements:

Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:
Conducts the University Wind Ensemble. Teaches graduate courses and undergraduate classes such as music education, conducting, and others as needed by the School of Music and according to the candidate’s strengths and experience.
Works collaboratively with: The team of band directors in the overall administration of the university band program. The music education faculty to build and maintain a productive relationship with public school music programs. Recruits students for the School of Music. Additional opportunities include assisting with: The Center for Music. Education’s professional development workshops. The Master of Arts in Band Studies summer program.

Educational Requirements for the Position (Faculty Positions Only):
Master’s degree in music with significant professional experience required, doctorate preferred.
Experience Required for the Position (Faculty Positions Only):
History as an artist conductor with a strong commitment to education.
Experience teaching at both the secondary and university level is highly desirable.
