Description

We are seeking a compassionate and bilingual Helpline Counselor to join our team on a contract basis in Miami, Florida. This is an overnight role, ideal for someone who can provide calm, consistent, and empathetic support during late hours. You will assist individuals in crisis or in need of guidance, playing a critical part in promoting mental health and emotional well-being within our community.

+ Respond to overnight inbound calls with empathy and professionalism, supporting individuals experiencing emotional distress, crisis, or seeking resources.

+ Communicate fluently in both English and Spanish to ensure inclusive and accessible support.

+ Maintain accurate and detailed records of all interactions, following agency protocols.

+ Provide translation support as needed for Spanish-speaking callers and documentation.

+ Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless, supportive service across shifts.

+ Follow established procedures for crisis intervention and suicide prevention.

+ Participate in ongoing training to enhance crisis management and trauma-informed care skills.

+ Remain composed and compassionate in high-pressure or emotionally intense situations.

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)

+ Strong verbal communication and active listening skills

+ Previous experience in helpline, mental health, or social services preferred

+ Comfortable supporting individuals facing emotional or mental health challenges

+ Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries

+ Willingness to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays if needed
