Description

Reputable insurance defense firm is seeking their next Associate Attorney to join the team in their Walnut Creek Office! This Associate will be joining a team of partners and associates who are knowledgeable and great mentors to start your career with this growing firm.

They are seeking an Associate Attorney with at least 2 years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense, but not required. This role offers the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement, competitive compensation, and a path for growth through a contract-to-hire structure. Responsibilities:

+ Take ownership of a litigation caseload from inception to resolution, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery.

+ Conduct depositions, mediations, and court appearances, demonstrating tactical insight and legal strategy.

+ Collaborate with clients, partners, and other stakeholders to deliver tailored legal solutions, ensuring proactive communication and updates throughout the case lifecycle.

+ Provide comprehensive legal analysis to clients, explaining complex legal concepts with clarity and professionalism.

+ Research and interpret legal precedents to support client cases, staying abreast of current laws, policies, and regulations within the insurance defense field.

+ Achieve and exceed an annual 1,800 billable hour requirement while ensuring high-quality legal work that aligns with client expectations.

Requirements

Requirements:

+ Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.

+ A minimum of 2 years of litigation experience (insurance defense experience strongly preferred).

+ Strong courtroom presence with proven experience drafting motions, conducting depositions, and managing discovery.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively represent clients’ interests.

+ Experience in managing client relationships.

+ Dedication to client service and exceptional organizational skills, enabling you to juggle the demands of a litigation caseload.

+ Flexibility and adaptability to a hybrid work environment, with the ability to travel to the Walnut Creek office for scheduled in-office workdays or court appearances as needed.
