Description

We are looking for a skilled Software Developer to join our team in Southern California, on a long-term contract basis. This role involves working on application development and providing production support for large-scale projects within the automotive finance industry. The ideal candidate will bring experience in auto finance and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills to ensure seamless operations and system performance.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and support applications for large projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables.

• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, addressing both online and batch processing errors.

• Evaluate and optimize daily and monthly batch processes to enhance performance and reduce processing times.

• Conduct impact analysis across multiple platforms and applications to identify potential risks and dependencies.

• Create thorough documentation for estimates, design, and development processes.

• Utilize mainframe technologies such as MQ and DB2 to support system operations.

• Monitor and support nightly batch production processes to ensure smooth execution.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address system-related challenges and deliver effective solutions.

• Apply business knowledge of automotive finance processes, including payment processing, collections, and accounting.

• Maintain familiarity with testing practices to ensure quality in unit testing and deliverables.

Requirements

• Proven experience in application development and production support within the automotive finance industry.

• Strong understanding of financial services processes such as payment processing, collections, and repossession.

• Proficiency in troubleshooting mainframe systems, including online and batch processes.

• Familiarity with tools and technologies such as MQ, DB2, and other mainframe systems.

• Experience conducting impact analyses and creating detailed documentation for technical projects.

• Knowledge of testing practices and the ability to deliver high-quality unit test results.

• Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
