    Description

    Our oil and gas client is seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant with expertise in SAP to join their dynamic accounting team. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in general accounting and experience supporting financial operations within the oil and gas industry. This role is 100% onsite in the Galleria area.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Perform monthly financial close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis to ensure accurate reporting

    + Utilize SAP ERP software to manage financial data, analyze system outputs, and maintain accuracy in the general ledger

    + Prepare and analyze accurate and timely monthly financial reports to support decision-making processes

    + Ensure adherence to regulatory and industry-specific requirements in financial reporting and controls. Maintain audit readiness

    + : Reconcile high-volume accounts, analyze discrepancies, and execute corrective actions.

    + Work closely with other departments, including operations and finance, to provide key insights into financial performance.

    Requirements

    To be considered for this role, you must have the following experience:

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

    + Minimum of 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry.

    + Proficiency in SAP ERP system and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros).

    + Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial processes.

    + CPA or working towards certification is preferred

    + Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

    + Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

    Preferred Skills:

    + Experience in cost accounting, inventory management, or financial modeling within an oil and gas environment.

    + Exposure to compliance reporting and audit processes.
