    -ANTICIPATED VACANCY-

    The Department of Marine Resources (DMR) is seeking a qualified candidate to fill one (1) limited periodposition of Public Service Coordinator II (Director of Strategic Planning) located in Augusta, Maine.

     

    BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:This is a senior leadership role in the agency, serving as the strategic planning lead for Department infrastructure and special projects, to identify and implement solutions to complex agency facilities, administrative and operational needs.

    The primary tasks for this position include:

    + Leading agency planning

    + Coordinating and implementing infrastructure life cycle analysis, project development, policies related to facility safety issues and emergency planning

    + Leading special policy, planning, programs and grant management in response to unique federal funding opportunities or programs

    + Serving as the agency Lead by Example Coordinator

     

    This position will have the potential for hybrid work capabilities with prior authorization from the managing authority.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Two or more years of experience coordinating across state government agencies to plan for, develop and execute public infrastructure improvements. Successful application for and effective management of federal, state or private funds for programmatic and infrastructure improvement projects in excess of $10M. Understanding of natural resource fundamentals. Experience working with diverse stakeholders and partners.

     

    Preference will go to candidates with the following skills and/or experience:Experience with Maine State government Division of Procurement, Bureau of General Services, Office of the State Controller, and agency finance and leadership teams. Experience in energy efficiency or climate resilience-focused projects.
