About the Role
This is a leadership role within Global Program Delivery (GPD), a part of the Chief Administrative Organization (CAO), accountable for executing strategic global initiatives across Global Business Operations including efforts around Business Technology, Digital, Data and CAO. The Senior Strategic Program Leader is responsible for leading Transformation, Continuous improvement, and operational excellence through managing large complex initiatives aligned to the organization’s strategic objectives. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, program governance and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of complex program execution across multiple geographies, senior stakeholders and workstreams. The Senior Strategic Program Manager is responsible for helping to develop business strategies and/or translating those strategic into meaningful program outcomes for business results.
Responsibilities
Program Strategy & Execution Leadership
+ Partner with business leadership to turn strategic priorities requiring transformation into business cases and execution roadmaps to meet company objectives
+ Develop detailed Program execution plans across multiple workstreams or project teams to ensure quality and completeness of planning
+ Proactively identify, assess, and manage risks and issues as well a cross-program intersections and dependencies; develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimize risk
+ Participate in Operating and Steering Committees to provide timely and transparent status updates and manage delivery risks … high level of communication skills required
+ Ensure delivery of Programs are completed comprehensively, on time and within budget with transparency and governance around any changes required
Operational Excellence
+ Model and coach others on Program Management and Operational Excellence, including Lean or Six Sigma process approaches
+ Identify gaps and facilitate training needs within the organization.
+ Ensure program initiatives will improve the service experience delivered to our employees and end customers across key deliverables of quality, cost, or speed
+ Leverage data to direct decision making and status reporting
Stakeholder management
+ Navigate through the organization to set strategic direction, define priorities and deliver outcomes in global and virtual team settings
+ Communicate program status and challenges in transparent manner
+ Collaborate and influence cross-functionally both internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives, to drive change and mitigate risks
Change management
+ Drive change management within all levels of AIG related to the program, building buy in through listening and responding to potential concerns
+ Acts as change agent and champion who will lead and drive change which will be embedded beyond the scope of the program timelines
Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
+ 10+ years of experience in program and project management
+ Proven experience in managing large-scale, complex strategic, operational and technology initiatives across multiple teams and geographies
+ Proven leader with ability to influence and partner with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on strategic transformation objectives touching process, people and systems
+ Demonstrated track record of delivering exceptional results, with an ability to speak to process improvements and specific results achieved.
+ Metric oriented, with a track record of delivering value add solutions.
+ Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
+ Expertise in program and project management methodologies (PMI, Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
+ Expertise in Operational Excellence with Lean / Six Sigma experience preferred
+ Strong foundation in transformation, program, and project management execution including integration, scope, time, cost, quality, resource, communications, risk, procurement, and stakeholder management
+ PMP (Project Management Professional), PgMP (Program Management Professional) certification, Agile certifications (e.g., ScrumMaster, SAFe) are a plus.
+ Ability to travel on occasion as needed.
