The Cath Lab Technologist III (U) is cross-trained and multi-skilled in all the cardiovascular modalities: Interventional Cardiology , Structural Heart, Peripheral Vascular, Pulmonary Bronchoscopy , Neuro Interventional cases , and other cases needed to be performed in the department.

+ + Performs EKG lead placement, blood pressure and pulse oximetry setup for hemodynamic monitoring.

+ Prepares sterile procedure tray and patient sterile field appropriately for specified procedure type.

+ Operates physiologic and radiographic equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

+ Responsible for procedure room preparation and breakdown duties including fluid preparation with accurate drug concentrations, stocking rooms, narcotic counts, daily QC checks, radiographic, hemodynamic and computer setup, and room cleanup.

+ Acquires and accurately documents pertinent patient data on encounter form and enters hemodynamic and X-ray systems.

+ Performs basic EP procedures which may include any of the following EP studies, implantation of pacemaker, ICD, BIV ICD and ablations.

+ Can operate EP recording and EP Mapping Systems independently

+ Assists physician with EP Diagnostic and Mapping systems which includes Carto, NavX and others

+ Assists physician with advanced mapping systems and pulsed field ablation techniques

+ Mentors, trains, and is responsible for the successful completion of orientating new staff

+ Participates in unit-based practice council

+ Participates in quality and safety committee for EP

+ Maintains established professional standards and observes all safety requirements to achieve a high Level of quality patient care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

+ + Required to have and maintain BLS and ACLS

+ Current certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or

+ Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI) and Vascular Interventional Radiography ( VI ) required .

Experience:

+ Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

+ Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.

+ Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.

+ Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.

+ Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
