Full-time (1.0 FTE), 10-month school calendar position

+ 7 hours per day, 10 months per year, school calendar

+ Instructing secondary students in the area of conservation, including the use of heavy equipment

+ Monitoring student progress

+ Maintaining discipline in the classroom and work sites

+ Heavy lifting, walking distances on hilly terrain, working outside in all-weather elements throughout the year

+ Visit and supervise students at internships and job sites

+ Involvement in items such as Future Farmers of America, Envirothon, Conservation contests, encouraged

+ Carry out all other duties as assigned by Administration

Job Qualifications

Valid NYS Teaching Certification; possession of the following certificates helpful: CDL Class A license; NYS Hunter Education Instructor in Hunter Education, Waterfowl Education, Trapper training and Bowhunter Education, NYS Erosion Control, OSHA training/trainer.

+ Experience with Heavy Equipment is preferred

+ Ability to handle heavy lifting and a willingness to work outdoors is required

+ Experience, willingness, and ability to work with secondary students in both classroom, various hands-on settings and job site settings

+ Have a background in agriculture, farming, natural resources and/or construction

+ Have experience in the following: forestry, chain saw, surveying, aquaculture, natural resources, greenhouse production

+ Experience with computers preferred
