What you'll do The Courier Specialist, in conjunction with the Courier Services Manager is responsible for the Bassett Healthcare Network Department of Courier Services. The position is responsible for the operational activities for the network from a local, regional and national perspective. Establish forms and processes to support the organizational needs and conform with network policies. Coordinate and support efforts with Courier Services Manager with operational tasks Foster an environment that focuses on decreasing operational costs Utilize the hospital financial and operational systems and materials information system to evaluate and prioritize standardization and utilization opportunities Coordinates and implements tasks that relate to complex projects including documentation, facilitating meetings, following up on information, etc. Obtains necessary data points and performs analytics in support of contract initiatives Supports contract management functions including loading contracts in Contract Management System and archiving of documentation Maintain proactive communication with all entities Monitor and report savings opportunities, related to Courier Services Review and analyze follow-up reports to determine ongoing effectiveness of standardization and utilization efforts Demonstrates willingness to accept additional responsibilities as requested to meet the needs of the organization Support the philosophy and objectives of the Bassett Healthcare System Establishes and maintains communication patterns which facilitate effective operations, quality control measures, and uphold the Courier Services program integrity Participates in multidisciplinary committees, work groups and teams to facilitate efficient and effective operations Assists in coordination of Bassett Healthcare Network Comprehensive recall process Communicate to all pertinent departments involved in the recall Support the Courier Services Manager with external Courier vendor and prevent operational gaps Support the Courier Services Manager with external vendor(s) and prevent operational gaps Support the Courier Services Manager with external Maintenance vendor(s) and prevent operational gaps Performs similar or related duties as requested or directed What we need from you Education: High School or GED, required Experience can be supplemented for degree Experience: Minimum 1 year Progressive experience in Courier management (preferably in a healthcare environment), preferred Licensure/Certifications: Certification in relevant discipline, preferred Skills: Take Initiative Analysis & Evaluation Communication Self-Motivated Time Management Goal Setting Team Building Problem Solving Critical Thinking Computer Skills Physical Requirements: Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 lbs of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Pay Range Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. The above compensation range represents a good faith belief of the compensation range by Bassett Healthcare Network, and its entities and affiliates, at the time of this posting or advertisement. Pay Range Minimum: USD $20.29/Hr. Pay Range Maximum: USD $30.44/Hr.
