    Job Summary:

    Serves as a positive link between referral sources and DME to provide DME needs to patients. Assists Manager or Supervisor to ensure Customer Service & Delivery staff is performing duties effectively and efficiently.

    Essential Functions:

    + Communicates and coordinates with referral sources for DME referrals. Facilitates delivery of DME to patients.

    + Works with hospitalist and case management so discharges go smooth for patient satisfaction.

    + Communicates with departments about orders and documentation errors. Communicates observations, facts, and comments with interdisciplinary team members, individually and through team meeting presentations as is appropriate.

    + Processes orders received accordingly to policy and procedures and within designated time period.

    + Provides and instructs clients in the installation and operation of equipment provided by DME.

    + Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, workshops and in-service meetings.

    + Complies with applicable Food & Drug Administration, Department of Transportation, and Public Utilities Commission requirements in performing job duties that require the use of home oxygen and other hazardous materials.

    + Maintains knowledge of products and services available through the department and can communicate.

    Education:

    + High School/GED (required)

    Experience:

    + Experience working with durable medical equipment (DME) (preferred)

    Skills & Abilities:

    + Strong interpersonal skills and able to effectively interact with patients, their families, physicians, and other staff members

    + Multitasking

    + Computer skills

    + Communication skills

    + Able to effectively work with diverse people

    + Organization

    + Able to keep accurate records and inventories of supplies
