Job Title: Project ManagerJob Description
The primary role of the Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing (MEP) Project Manager is to provide technical support on projects to the project team, from conceptual design to project turnover. Additionally, you will provide site support for the implementation of Building Automation systems and enhance customer relationships by delivering exceptional service.
Responsibilities
+ Provide technical expertise for engineered systems during the pre-construction phase, including checking A/E documents for compliance, constructability, and optimization.
+ Participate in page turns with clients and the A/E team, assist in identifying value engineering and cost reduction items.
+ Identify long lead items and assist in their procurement, prepare bid instructions and sub-contractor scope documents.
+ Evaluate subcontractor cost proposals and qualifications, prepare cost estimates.
+ Assist the Project Manager and Sub-Contractors in interpreting contract documents and resolving RFIs.
+ Review submittals, substitution requests, and change orders upon request from Project Management staff.
+ Provide feedback on the project schedule to the Project Manager.
+ Support project teams in reviewing engineering drawings and specifications to ensure compliance and proper operation.
+ Provide onsite oversight and technical assistance during the start-up of major equipment and systems.
+ Support oversight and technical assistance for complicated control systems, including I&C systems, BAS, SCADA, and EMS systems.
+ Ensure close-out documentation for engineered systems is complete and compliant.
+ Assist in the development of company standards and provide technical training to PM and site staff on engineered systems.
Essential Skills
+ Project management experience in MEP engineering.
+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
+ A minimum of 5 years' applicable experience in engineering design, facility management/operations, or construction management.
+ Expert knowledge in the design, installation, or operation of engineered systems for complex projects.
+ Strong communication skills to convey technical topics to a non-technical audience.
+ Detail-oriented with the ability to organize and manage multiple project tasks.
+ Expert knowledge of Building Automation Systems and Energy & Power Monitoring Systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with commercial construction projects.
+ Ability to assist in the development of company standards.
+ Experience in providing technical training to PM and site staff.
Work Environment
This position offers a dynamic work environment that includes in-office duties as well as traveling to project sites.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
