Job Title: Data Center Manager
Job Description
This role oversees the company's interactions with leaders in the Data Center industry, such as hyperscalers, colocation providers, and other developers. The position is designed to enhance coordination across the system, assist operating companies in capitalizing on growth opportunities, and establish the company as a leader in the industry. Key focus areas include streamlining relationship management processes and supporting operating companies in recruitment and strategy development.
Responsibilities
+ Streamline relationship management processes for hyperscalers, colocation, and data center developers for the benefit of all operating companies.
+ Enhance system coordination to leverage data center growth opportunities for all operating companies and customers.
+ Support operating company teams in recruitment and strategy development for site, pricing, forecasting, and service delivery.
+ Facilitate the company's leading role in partnerships and collaboration with Data Center and Technology Companies.
+ Act as the primary liaison for hyperscalers and co-location developers, coordinating the company's approach to relationship management in the data center market.
+ Serve as the initial contact during the recruitment and development phase, working closely with economic development and customer solutions teams.
+ Coordinate partnerships and convene long-term planning discussions with hyperscalers to align objectives and develop compelling propositions.
+ Collaborate with Generation, System Planning, External Affairs, and Finance teams to develop clean energy pathways and modernize transmission and distribution construction processes for the data center market.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent is strongly preferred.
+ Minimum of 10 years' experience in business development, strategic planning, and relationship management, with at least 5 years in the data center or technology industry.
+ Proven track record in developing and executing business strategies that have increased company revenue and market presence.
+ In-depth understanding of the energy sector's intersection with technology, particularly in data center operations and energy consumption trends.
+ Extensive knowledge of regulatory environments, energy markets, and utility operations.
+ Exceptional leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and manage cross-functional teams.
+ Strong analytical skills to assess complex market dynamics and respond with innovative solutions.
+ Excellent communication skills to articulate technical and business concepts to diverse stakeholder groups.
+ Willingness to travel as required to meet business objectives and build industry relationships.

This position is located onsite in Birmingham, AL
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.
