    Resp & Qualifications

    PURPOSE:

    The Consultant, Business Consulting Group within Enterprise Strategy, leads the development of data-informed insights and recommendations to enable executive decision-making to address CareFirsts most pressing challenges. This position will interact frequently with and support senior and executive leadership and oversee project team members. The position may collaborate with other Enterprise Strategy sibling teams to deliver projects, e.g., Competitive Intelligence & Data and Analytics; Care Delivery Strategy; Planning & Governance and / or Corporate Development.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Data-Informed Insights and Recommendations

    + Lead end-to-end internal consulting projects to drive to recommendations and decisions, e.g.

    + Manage and guide project teams but also be ready to roll up sleeves and handle tasks independently as required by the project.

    + Build relationships across the enterprise to source insights and gain buy in for recommendations.

    + Leverage excellent communication and presentation skills to convey findings and recommendations in an accessible manner.

    + Engage in continuous learning around key consulting competencies to improve own consulting skills and cultivate consulting skills in other members of the team.

    Executive Leadership Team (ELT) & Board Ad Hoc Support:

    + Support, as needed, ad hoc and ongoing Enterprise Strategy activities for Executive Leadership Team (ELT), Executive Council, Board, P&L Leadership and / or other leadership groups / forums. Activities may include: periodic creation and / or refresh of points of view on strategic topics; scenario planning exercises; offsite facilitation, among others.

    Healthcare Industry Knowledge & Relationships:

    + Develop and become known for subject matter expertise in key healthcare topics and apply expertise in valuable ways in the organization.

    + Cultivate an external network and build relationships with health care industry thought leaders.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

    Position does not have direct reports but is expected to oversee project team resources, including matrixed team members.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    **Education Level:** Bachelor's Degree preferably in business administration, economics or other analytical field OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.

    **Experience:** 8 years of experience in strategic planning with 3 to 5 years strategy consulting, internal consulting or finance.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Master's Degree, MBA, MPH, MHA.

    + 2+ years experience with strategy consulting firm.

    + Healthcare industry experience.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

    + Experience in a high-performing consulting, strategic planning, or finance environment, demanding a sophisticated approach to understanding strategic needs, financial/industry models, competitive trends and business impact.

    + Demonstrated experience applying skills from strategy consulting toolkit (esp, problem structuring, hypothesis driven approach, insights generation, story building and deck creation).

    + Strategic agility, structured thinking, and intellectual curiosity.

    + Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Ability to organically offer perspectives and insights.

    + Demonstrated ability to establish credibility with executives and senior management.

    + Proven experience in leading meetings comprised of multi-disciplinary teams of management and associates at all levels to drive towards consensus and action.

    **Salary Range:** $109,368 - $217,217

This compensation range is specific and considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilites of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, internal peer equity, and market and business consideration. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range, as compensation decisions depend on each case's facts and circumstances, including but not limited to experience, internal equity, and location.
