Sr. Product Development Engineer

Join our dynamic team of engineers who design, test, and build an innovative fleet of robots and mechatronic systems. Our co-located offices, labs, test floors, and factories allow us to rapidly innovate and bring ideas to life. Current advancements include autonomous movement, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and more. We seek a talented Product Development Engineer with a proven track record in complex design and manufacturing environments. You'll apply design for X principles in new product introductions, integrating customer requirements for safety, manufacturability, and supportability.
Responsibilities
+ Actively support and foster a culture of inclusion.
+ Provide design for X guidance and feedback on electromechanical designs.
+ Guide best practices on manufacturing tolerances using GD&T.
+ Launch prototype tooling with accelerated schedules and assess project risk.
+ Leverage knowledge of multiple production processes to identify program risks and provide mitigation strategies.
+ Analyze new products' dimensional data.
+ Drive internal and external DFMEA reviews.
+ Solve technical problems across a broad set of design and manufacturing commodities.
+ Mentor team members and design engineers.
+ Propose design changes to enhance product manufacturability and testability.
+ Evaluate and approve Design Engineering Changes Orders (DECOs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
+ Implement best practices for engineering standards, such as IPC-620 WHMA Class II.
+ Analyze NPI failures to identify root causes and drive improvements through future DFx cycles.
+ Effectively write White Papers and Manufacturing Concept Papers to inform and influence teams and stakeholders.
+ Take ownership to identify issues/problems and drive them to completion with minimal oversight.
+ Navigate projects with a high level of ambiguity and provide guidance to multiple partners.
Essential Skills
+ BSc/MSc in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or equivalent.
+ 10+ years of industry experience in New Product Introduction (NPI).
+ 5+ years of Hardware Development/Design experience.
+ 5+ years in a Manufacturing environment.
+ Experience designing mechanical assemblies for electronics.
+ Experience with rapid prototyping and scaling for production.
+ Experience with production tooling.
+ Strong communication and writing skills.
+ Proficient in 3D modeling software such as Solidworks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.
+ Experience with project management of technical projects.
+ Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant technical discipline.
+ Proficient in GD&T.
+ 7+ years of product design and development experience.
+ Dassault 3DExperience Enovia for PLM.
+ Dassault 3DExperience Catia for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
+ Thermal simulation analysis using ANSYS IcePak and/or Siemens Star CCM.
+ Mechanical stack-up analysis.
+ Structural Load Analysis.
+ Use of engineering project management software such as JIRA, Confluence, or other Agile tools.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $115.00/hr.
