We are seeking a talented and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team, providing crucial engineering support for new product development projects. This role involves interfacing with various project team members, enhancing existing products, and designing solutions that meet specific engineering change requests.
Responsibilities
+ Provide engineering support for new product development projects in a lead role.
+ Interface with Product Group leader, Project manager, and other project team members to enhance existing products.
+ Provide direction to others relative to assigned project development activities.
+ Design solutions that meet specific needs outlined in Engineering Change requests.
+ Conduct engineering and Finite element analysis as required by the project scope.
+ Collaborate with vendors to facilitate communication and product development needs.
+ Write test plans and quality documents.
+ Generate manufacturing-ready designs, working with factory personnel to ensure capabilities alignment.
+ Execute engineering analysis and apply high-level accepted engineering practices.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in solid modeling using SolidWorks.
+ Strong drafting ability with knowledge of dimensional call outs, tolerances, and symbols.
+ Experience in performing stress analysis.
+ Ability to read and interpret complex documents, blueprints, and work instructions.
+ High mechanical aptitude with an understanding of electrical fundamentals.
+ Knowledge of materials and their properties as it relates to engineering.
+ Proficiency in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
+ Advanced mathematical skills, including exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
+ Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to complex problems.
+ Hands-on ability to develop test fixtures and perform testing of design elements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 3-5 years of experience within a manufacturing facility.
+ 2+ years of experience using SolidWorks.
+ 2+ years of conducting stress analysis.
+ Experience with bill of materials, CAD, SolidWorks design, and fabrication.
+ Knowledge of ETO, mechanical engineering, sheet metal, and sheet metal fabrication.
Work Environment
The position is based in Jackson, WI, with occasional visits to a new facility in Hartford, WI. The company comprises 208 employees and promotes a casual dress code. Work hours are 8-hour days with minimal overtime.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $38.46/hr.
