    Job Title: Environmental Project Scientist

    Job Description

    The Environmental Project Scientist will collaborate with project staff to provide comprehensive Environmental Site Assessment reports, ensuring they meet all standards. Projects will span various sectors, including private developers, banks, industrial/commercial entities, municipalities, and real estate.

     

    This role encompasses both office and field responsibilities, including site walkovers, soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling, as well as building materials sampling. Office duties involve project coordination, data management, and report writing.

    Responsibilities

    + Completion of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Phase II ESAs, Due Care reporting, and related Due Diligence Projects

    + Ensure Environmental Site Assessment reports are complete and meet standards

    + Develop and maintain client relationships

    + Perform site visits and walk-throughs at project sites

    + Conduct soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling at sites

    + Collect and manage data

    + Assist in project coordination

    + Manage costs and profitability by adhering to budgets for time, travel, and material expenses

    + Handle Underground Storage Tank (Part 213) reporting and oversight

    + Communicate and present potential new business or resource information, including technology and regulatory factors, to Due Diligence leadership

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related field

    + 3+ years of experience in Environmental Consulting for Phase I Environmental Site Assessment

    + Experience with NEPA Assessments (Part 50 or Part 58)

    + Field experience in soil sampling, groundwater sampling, or vapor sampling

    "Nice to have" Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in Vapor Mitigation Design or Oversight

    + Certifications in Asbestos, Radon, Wetlands, Lead-Based Paint

    + OSHA 40 Certification

    Work Environment

    Work an average of 40 hours per week. The role is approximately 75% office-based and 25% field-based. Project sites are typically local in West Michigan, with occasional assignments in other areas of Michigan.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $41.00/hr.
