Job Title: Shop Electrical Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Shop Technician to perform repairs, upgrades, and overhauls of Low and Medium Voltage Circuit Breakers both in a shop environment and on-site. The ideal candidate will be comfortable testing transformers with low-medium voltage at 35-45k volts and will possess mechanical and electrical abilities. You may lead and train other team members in the absence of a Shop Supervisor or Service Manager.
Responsibilities
+ Perform repairs, upgrades, and overhauls of Low and Medium Voltage Circuit Breakers.
+ Provide on-site maintenance and testing of power distribution equipment.
+ Lead and train team members in equipment repair when required.
+ Ensure the proper functioning of electrical power distribution equipment at customer facilities throughout the Acadiana, LA area.
Essential Skills
+ Electrical troubleshooting and service experience.
+ Proficiency with hand and power tools.
+ Ability to read blueprints and perform field service.
+ Journeyman license in electrical work.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Understanding and repair of mechanical, electrical, and diesel equipment.
+ EPA Certification in refrigeration.
+ Experience with VFDs, VSDs, soft starts, and 'across the line' motor starting.
+ Factory training in diesel, generator, compressor, and HVAC systems.
+ Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
+ High School Diploma required; technical degree or certificate a plus.

Work Environment
This position involves shop work with occasional on-site maintenance tasks. The role requires a strong focus on generator, electrical, and HVAC power repair. Candidates will participate in on-call rotations and may receive per diem for service calls in the future.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Broussard, Louisiana.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $40.00/hr.
