    Job Description

    The Saw Operator is responsible for setting up and operating the Vertical Band Saw. This role involves measuring and safely cutting materials according to print specifications, utilizing resources efficiently to minimize material waste. The operator will perform basic cross and saw speeds and feeds appropriate to the material being cut. Additionally, deburring parts after cutting is required. The successful candidate will eventually be cross-trained on proper procedures for setting up and operating multiple pieces of fabrication equipment, including but not limited to Press Brakes, Lasers, Rollers, and Benders.

    Responsibilities

    + Set up and operate the Vertical Band Saw.

    + Measure and safely cut material to print specifications.

    + Utilize resources efficiently while ensuring minimal material waste.

    + Perform basic cross and saw speeds and feeds to material being cut.

    + Debur parts after cutting.

    + Cross-train on proper procedures for set-up and operation of multiple pieces of fabrication equipment, including Press Brakes, Lasers, Rollers, and Benders.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in using a tape measure.

    + Ability to read blueprints.

    + 2+ years of production experience.

    + Mechanically inclined.

    + Experience in saw operation and sheet metal fabrication.

    + Skill in using hand and power tools.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Capability to identify different metals.

    + Fabrication experience.

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
