Job Title: Swiss Machinist

Job Description

The CNC Machinist is responsible for the production of machined components on various machining centers, requiring expertise in operating turning, vertical and horizontal machining centers, and Swiss-style lathes.

Responsibilities

+ Operate turning, vertical and horizontal machining centers, and Swiss-style lathes, adhering to all safety and quality standards.

+ Monitor machinery during operation to detect any signs of malfunction or deviation from expected performance.

+ Perform regular quality checks on components produced to ensure they meet or exceed specifications.

+ Adjust machine settings or programming as necessary to correct any issues.

Essential Skills

+ Minimum of 4 years’ experience with CNC multi-axis Swiss turning machines.

+ Experience in programming, setting up, and operating vertical and horizontal machining centers (3-4 axes).

+ Proficiency in determining tooling, set up, program, and operate Swiss Style/Star lathes unassisted.

+ Ability to use appropriate measuring tools and equipment.

+ Skill in choosing appropriate cutting tools.

+ Capability to read and interpret Engineering drawings and work instructions.

+ Experience with Fanuc Controls.

+ Fluency in G&M code.

+ Willingness and ability to train other operators.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Gibbs Cam programming is a plus.

+ Experience with CAD (Solidworks, AutoCAD) is advantageous.

+ PLC knowledge is beneficial.

+ Exposure to or experience in continuous improvement or lean methodologies.

+ High School Diploma or equivalent; trade school or Technical College is a plus.

+ Ability to stand for 8 to 10 hours per shift.

+ Ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly.

Work Environment

The work environment is temperature controlled across three separate buildings dedicated to machining, assembly, and warehousing. With four Swiss Citizen machines available, the facility provides a structured setting conducive to precision machining.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Cleveland, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52500.00 - $74880.00/yr.
