Job Title: Mold Maker

Job Description

Join a leading supplier of injection molds and secondary machines for the automotive industry as a Mold Maker. We are seeking experienced professionals to support long-term projects with overtime opportunities. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in working with new plastic injection molds, including the construction of molds up to the size of door panels. Helpers with skills in mold repair and construction are also welcome.

Responsibilities

+ Read blueprints, follow instructions, and use CAD programs to plan the construction of molds.

+ Create new tooling for molds, die-casting, and metal stamping according to design team specifications.

+ Set up equipment and ensure each piece is appropriate for the intended mold design.

+ Mix modeling materials and melt metal pieces for mold creation.

+ Maintain and repair existing tooling and molds.

+ Create prototype products, fixtures, and jigs to test the effectiveness of newly created molds.

+ Analyze and correct mold malfunctions.

+ Disassemble mold tooling for cleaning and repairs.

Essential Skills

+ 5 years of experience in working with new plastic injection molds.

+ Experience with spotting and assembly of molds.

+ 5 years of CNC experience for Mold Maker.

+ 2-3 years of CNC or shop hand experience for Helper.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Welding experience.

+ 10 years of plastics background.

Work Environment

Work in multiple locations, with mold makers primarily stationed at the Sterling Heights plant. Shifts available are 1st shift from 6am to 6pm and 2nd shift from 6pm to 6am, including some weekends. Be prepared for a flexible schedule of 7 days with 12-hour shifts.

This is a Permanent position based out of STERLING HEIGHTS, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $62400.00/yr.
