Job Title: Material Control Operator
Job Description
Seeking a Material Control Operator to manage and maintain inventory information across multiple branch locations while collaborating with a diverse team. You will ensure the accuracy of material stock data and oversee the organization of company products.
Responsibilities
+ Operate sit-down forklifts, order pickers, and side-loader forklifts.
+ Conduct inventory control and cycle counting duties.
+ Enter inventory data into a computer system and record information manually using a clipboard.
+ Load and unload metal materials manually and with a forklift.
+ Complete material receiving activities for shipments between locations or directly from the mill.
+ Coordinate the movement of material from stock to processing to support production requirements.
+ Operate material handling equipment to facilitate material movement.
+ Perform accurate and timely data entry within the inventory management system regarding material movements.
+ Prepare and maintain appropriate inventory identification tags.
+ Complete material consolidation tasks, including supermarket responsibilities.
+ Identify material shortages and issues, and communicate them to the appropriate staff.
+ Verify scrap and maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
+ Assist the quality assurance team in activities related to credits.
+ Perform equipment preventative maintenance and cleanup.
Essential Skills
+ 1.5 years of forklift experience.
+ Basic data entry skills for tracking inventory and material locations.
+ High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
+ Ability to read, write, speak, and understand fluent English and perform basic math problems.
+ Basic computer skills for data entry into inventory management systems.
+ Ability to use tape measure and calipers for material inspection/measurement.
+ Attention to detail and high accuracy in written work and data entry.
+ Certification to operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, side-loaders, 4-directional lifts, or cherry-pickers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 3 years of material control or inventory experience.
+ Previous experience safely operating various material handling equipment.
+ Strong attendance and work history.
+ Ability to work on your feet, read a tape measure, and handle paperwork and chain of custody effectively.

Work Environment
The work environment is a large raw material supplier facility where materials are stored, cut, and shipped to customers. It is a fast-paced environment with over 60 employees on the floor. Shifts are available Monday to Thursday from 4am to 2:30pm, with additional shifts from 6am to 2:30pm and 12:15pm to 8:45pm, Monday to Friday. Orientation is provided bi-weekly, with initial classroom training followed by hands-on experience with a trainer/operator. New employees will work in either the Main Building or the Titanium Building in Auburn, WA.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburn, Washington.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.70 - $22.70/hr.
