Technology Specialist IV (Cloud PaaS Solution Engineer) - Digital and Technology Partners - Remote
The Cloud PaaS Solution Engineer is responsible for managing and optimizing our Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability of our cloud-native applications and services. You’ll collaborate closely with development, DevOps, and security teams to support platform operations, automate workflows, monitor environments, and respond to incidents within our cloud ecosystem.
Qualifications
+ Bachelors degree in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Engineering, or related field); Masters degree preferred
+ 12-15 years preferred of related experience, including 8 years of demonstrated ability in technology area. In-depth knowledge of associated technology areas that could impact area of responsibility; healthcare technology experience preferred.
+ 5+ years of experience in cloud operations, DevOps, or site reliability engineering.
+ 3+ years of hands-on experience with PaaS solutions on one or more major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
+ Strong background in DevOps practices, automation, and container orchestration.
+ Proficient in scripting and automation using tools such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, or cloud-native CLIs to streamline deployment, operations, and maintenance of PaaS environments.
+ Experience with IaC tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
+ Strong troubleshooting, communication, and analytical skills.
+ Experience in multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud environments
Preferred Qualifications
+ Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure Administrator/DevOps, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer.
+ Experience in high-availability, distributed systems.
+ Background in security operations or cloud compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC2, ISO 27001).
+ Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-300/301) or similar
+ Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana).

Responsibilities
+ Operate, monitor, and maintain cloud-based PaaS environments
+ Assess current workloads and lead re-architecture efforts to adopt PaaS and serverless services.
+ Contribute to PaaS governance models, standards, and reusable patterns to support organizational agility and innovation.
+ Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment and infrastructure changes.
+ Ensure reliability and performance of cloud services using observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or Azure Monitor).
+ Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and platform-related incidents and issues.
+ Work with development teams to ensure applications are cloud-optimized and follow best practices.
+ Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, ARM Templates, or Pulumi.
+ Define and enforce cloud best practices, standards, and governance frameworks
+ Partner with security and compliance teams to implement best practices, ensuring secure deployment and operation of PaaS workloads.
+ Troubleshoot complex issues related to cloud application deployments and performance.
+ Drive continuous improvement initiatives for performance, cost optimization, and system reliability.
+ Maintain documentation of systems, configurations, processes, and runbooks.

Compensation Statement
Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $145200 - $217875 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
