    Description: The special education teacher identifies students with special education needs in relation to grade level objectives, applies a program of instruction consistent with student learning needs and curriculum objectives as outlined in the Individual Education Plan (IEP), uses appropriate teaching strategies and instructional materials, and assesses student progress. Furthermore, the special education teacher creates and manages a classroom environment consistent with student learning.     Job Qualifications

    + New York State Students With Disabilities K-12 or 1-6 Teaching Certificate

    + Skilled at establishing and maintaining positive working relationships and a supportive learning environment

    + Successful experience with teacher-to-teacher and teacher-to-student collaboration
