THE POSITION

This position gives you the opportunity to utilize your specialized skill set within the Capitol Complex, Annex Complex, and outlying facilities. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Painter, you will complete a full range of journeyman level duties involving the application of paint, wallpaper, or vinyl coverings to a variety of surfaces including walls, partitions, and all types of office furniture at various locations throughout the Capitol Complex. Work involves estimating material requirements and supplies, maintaining records of special mixes for future use, as well as selecting the proper tools and equipment while compiling with safety measures at all times. Our team will rely on your independent judgement to accomplish assigned tasks and seek guidance from the supervisor on unusual situations. Additional responsibilities include shoveling and removing snow and ice from entrances, walk ways, steps, and other areas by using rock salt, sand, or other deicing agents and by operating spreaders and snow blowers.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment
+ This position is considered essential. You will be required to report to work for emergencies and office closings.
+ Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
+ Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.
+ Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ Successful completion of the Building Trades Trainee program (commonwealth title);or
+ Three years of experience in the painting trade;or
+ An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
+ This position requires possession of a motor vehicle license.
Additional Requirements:
+ You must be able to perform essential job functions.
