General Function
The Special Event Coordinator and Marketing Assistant manages and maintains the College of Business’ ( COB ) social media communication and website, creates and manages content for COB digital displays, assists and helps coordinate on- and off-campus student recruitment, creates promotional videos, writes for COB publications, and plans and coordinates special events.

Description of Primary Duties
The Special Event Coordinator and Marketing Assistant manages and maintains the College of Business’ ( COB ) social media communication and website, creates and manages content for COB digital displays, assists and helps coordinate on- and off-campus student recruitment, creates promotional videos, writes for COB publications, and plans and coordinates special events.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, communication or a related field is required.
Experience: At least one year of experience in marketing, special events, university events, public relations, or communication. Experience with using social media as a communication tool is preferred.
Skills: Exceptional interpersonal communication skills are required; exceptional verbal and written communication skills are required. Knowledge and expertise with new marketing communications tools, including the use of social media, is required. Knowledge and expertise to capture, edit, and produce short promotional video-content, is required. Strong decision-making skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, and the ability to leverage and manage resources, both internal and external, are required. The ability to balance multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines is required. Proven project management skills and the ability to responsibly manage a budget are required. Must have a working knowledge of various computer software applications, including word processing and database applications.
Effort: This position transports, moves, lifts, rolls, and sets up recruitment and display material weighing up to 35 pounds unassisted.
Other: Must be available to attend events during evenings and weekends; and out-of-town, overnight travel is occasionally required.
License: A valid driver’s license is required.
