    Overview:

    TP-Link is growing our Legal Department! We recently established an in-house legal department and are building a team of lawyers to guide the company in navigating a wide variety of legal issues and risks. Do you enjoy creating new things? Can you provide direction for a nascent endeavor ? Do you like to put your imprint on something and say “I did that”? If so, this position might be for you.

     

    TP-Link is seeking an experienced and strategic Sr. Litigation Counsel, reporting to the General Counsel. This person will manage significant litigation matters across the company.

     

    The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in patent (esp. RAND/FRAND), antitrust, and commercial litigation in the electronics industry.

     

    + Manage and coordinate all phases of litigation, including patent, antitrust, commercial, and employment matters, both domestically and internationally

    + Develop litigation strategy, oversee outside counsel, and manage budgets and case milestones

    + Work cross-functionally with internal business, engineering, and finance teams to gather facts, assess risk, and develop practical legal solutions

    + Support patent litigation globally, including strategy development and coordination in the U.S., Europe, and Asia

    + Drive negotiation and resolution of patent licensing negotiations, especially RAND/FRAND-related matters

    + Provide counsel on potential disputes and proactively manage legal risk across the organization

    + Collaborate on internal investigations and respond to government inquiries or regulatory actions

    + Report regularly to senior leadership on case status, risk exposure, and strategic considerations

    Requirements

    + Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

    + Member in good standing of the California state bar, either as a licensed attorney or California Registered In-House Counsel.

    + 8+ years of experience as a practicing attorney, including significant experience at a top law firm.

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex legal issues to non-legal stakeholders.

    + An entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to orient and navigate in an unstructured environment.

    + High level of integrity and ethical judgment, with a commitment to upholding the company’s values and legal responsibilities.

    + Willingness to be flexible and learn new skills.

    + A true team player with a demonstrated record of mentoring and supporting others.
