    The Telecom & Audio-Visual Technician I is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery and ongoing operations of diverse Telephony and Audio Visual applications, physical devices, mobile communication services, and the associated technical infrastructure connectivity at all WPCU facilities. In addition, this role will acts as the backup for the Telephony System Administrator. Lastly, this role interacts with all business units, and assists with various technical support needs associated with the WPCU Board of Directors.

     

    + Install, maintain, and upgrade all WPCU audio/visual equipment (e.g. Televisions, Codigo PC’s, Projectors, etc.) and associated applications. (50%)

    + Serve as the first-level backup support to the Telephony System Administrator for general maintenance to various applications. (25%)

    + Ensure the accurate data entry into the IT Asset Inventory system for any repairs and replacement to Telephony and Audio Visual products and devices. (10%)

    + Provide “day-to-day” Telephony and Audio Visual hardware and software support to WPCU and CUSO Partners at all WPCU facilities. (10%)

    + Provide “1-on-1” support to Board of Directors and WPCU Executive Management for various telephony-related needs including iPads, iPhones, teleconferencing needs, and similar ad hoc requests. (5%)

    Required Skills

    The person in this position must be thoroughly skilled at managing system vulnerability mitigation, be knowledgeable at managing networked telephone systems and their associated applications/servers, and possess the skills to configure and/or install audio visual equipment and peripherals. In order to do so the following are required:

     

    + A Technical or Associates degree and 2+ years of experience. Candidates who present an equivalent combination of formal training and experience specific to Telephony/Audio Visual Technology may also be considered.

    + InfoComm Certified Technology Specialist certification is a plus.

    + Knowledge of video conferencing applications, protocols, communications, and standards.

    + Telephone system support experience for mid-sized network or larger.

    + Audio visual systems support experience for mid-sized network or larger.

    + Proven written communication skills, including ability to prepare technical specifications.

    + Ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with speed and efficiency.

    + Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.

    + Ability to pass background check for Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) or Department of Defense (DoD) in order to acquire "Contractor" badge is required.

    + Ability to lift up to 60 pounds as needed.
