We're hiring a Principal Software Engineer, Developer AI to join CoreAI.
Foundry Models team is responsible for providing serverless access to a wide selection of models from providers such as DeepSeek, Mistral AI, Cohere, and Meta. We are at the forefront of large-scale AI inferencing, working with the latest state-of-the-art models and ensuring our platform can offer the right AI capabilities to anyone, from the individual developer to large enterprise customers and enable Agentic Integrations across the AI Foundry.
As a Principal Software Engineer, you will get the opportunity to work on hard performance and optimization problems with inference runtimes and compute and contribute to features across the stack for growing list of enterprise customers.

Responsibilities
+ Lead design and development of scalable and high-performance systems.
+ Provides technical leadership during code reviews for a solution/product area to ensure it meets the team's and Microsoft’s quality standards
+ Mentor engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning.
+ Innovate and optimize features for performance and reliability.
+ Collaborate across teams to align on goals and deliverables.
+ Contribute to the long-term vision and roadmap for the product and features
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 3+ years of technical leadership experience with AI
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
+ OR related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript,
+ OR Python
+ OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
+ OR equivalent experience.
Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
