The **Windows Trust and Experience Team** is on a mission to make Windows and other Microsoft products the most trusted platforms for your business and life. We are hiring a **Software Engineer II** to work on this team and be on the forefront of building innovative, AI driven solutions that empower product agility, data governance, interoperability, and responsible use, all designed to increase the trust of our customers and partners.
As a **Software Engineer II** , you’ll participate and contribute to engineering planning sessions. You will design, implementation tests and maintain features and components of tools/services that ensure Windows and other Microsoft products the most trusted platforms. You’ll work closely with PMs, designers and other engineers to deliver end-to-end scenarios. You will communicate technical decisions and trade-offs clearly to stakeholders.

Responsibilities
+ Design, build and manage innovative and highly reliable services that support trustworthy development.
+ Create feature specifications in co-ordination with feature teams and other partners.
+ Review and influence ongoing design, architecture, standards and methods for operating services and systems; assess design and code changes to drive improvements.
+ Analyze data to measure the impact of the changes and recommend opportunities for improvement.
+ Improve service engineering excellence.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years of relevant industry software design and development experience, working with a mainstream programming/scripting language including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Pythono OR equivalent experience.
+ 1+ years of cloud programming experience in Azure or equivalent experience.
Other Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
+ Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Ability to resolve ambiguities effectively, prioritize and drive projects to completion, prioritize between multiple needs and adapt to changing circumstances.
+ 1+ year(s) of experience with code repositories including but not limited: GitHub, Azure DevOps; as well as understanding of branching and tagging strategies; understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
+ Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes and communicate technical content to general audiences.
Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
